The Tasty: A Guilty Pleasure Special edition.. Pickles and Chips...

I know.. I know... by now I am sure you have read the title of this post and labeled me a crazy person, or thought what are you pregnant?!  Just hear me out before you judge me.. If by the end of this post you don't want to run out and try the explosive flavor combination of dill pickle slices with plain potato chips you can walk away never to return again, BUT if I can reach just one reader out there and bring happiness and completeness to your everyday food life then as a blogger I am required by law to do so!  I have eaten this odd combination ever since I was a five year old child.  You take a plain potato chip, and add a pickle slice on top of it and bite into heaven. I've never been a "sweet tooth" kind of kid. Always choosing salty over sugary.  So imagine my delight when I accidentally discovered this taste.  When you bite into the pickle and chip together you are just put into a complete euphoria of vinegary salty goodness.  Your taste buds will be washed by the sudden shot of sour that a dill pickle hits you with only to be heightened by the salt of the chip.  As you take in that sudden burst of flavor you will then start to notice how amazing the texture of the chip helps bring your pickle slice to a new level. There is just something so good about hearing the crunch of the chip.  Once the sudden shot of sour dies down you will notice the freshness of the dill in your pickle washing over your tongue and mouth as it works so perfectly with the earthy taste of your potato chip.  I know as crazy as it may sound it is SO good and I could eat this guilty pleasure any day and time of day.  It's like..  salty.. vinegary... crunchy... HEAVEN.  If you haven't tried it and aren't convinced I pose one question to you, What do you have to loose?

  1. Makes me wanna go to the DG & get chips & pickles. Does putting chips on your sandwich that has dill pickles get close to this treat you're talkin about? If so I've done that.
